NEW YORK, October 22, 2015 – LGBTQ marketing agency, Target 10, has signed an affiliation agreement with Japanese PR agency, Sunny Side Up (SSU). The two agencies will actively work together to deepen their respective knowledge of LGBTQ marketing practices and diversity issues. This agreement is one of the first international collaborations between a U.S. and Japanese company involved with the LGBTQ market.
Today, major brands increasingly want to target, and be inclusive of, the LGBTQ community in their marketing, advertising, PR and workplace policies. Through this agreement, Target 10 will gain a deeper understanding of the Japanese LGBTQ community, its culture and consumer habits. Similarly, SSU will become better equipped to offer consulting and supporting services for marketing and communications to companies with respect to LGBTQ issues in the Japanese market.
Cooperating internationally, the agencies intend to exchange information, plan projects, and create new business opportunities. The collaboration includes, but is not limited to, sharing research and insights about LGBTQ trends in media, government, and consumer marketing both in Japan and the U.S.
Matt Tumminello, president of Target 10, stated, “This relationship builds on the work that Target 10 has been doing in the U.S. for more than a decade and underscores the rapid progress being made on LGBTQ issues. Bringing a global perspective to LGBTQ marketing is important not only for our industry but also for the advancement of LGBT equality.”
Ms. Etsuko Tsugihara, president of Sunny Side Up, Inc., stated, “We are extremely excited about this first international collaboration regarding the LGBTQ market in the U.S. and Japan while this movement of diversity goes on. Through this opportunity, we will endeavor to create a society where there are no words and borders of “Diversity”, and where people identify and understand each other.
