Matt Tumminello
President
After years of dating men, living in the gayborhoods of DC and New York, volunteering countless hours at gay charities, and rollerblading thousands of miles on weekends, Matt Tumminello decided his life wasn’t gay enough. With an old desktop and a Rolodex (no joke) he took his PR and marketing know-how and set out to create a gaygency called Target 10.
As president of Target 10, Matt Tumminello is a leading voice on gay and lesbian marketing. For more than twelve years, he has been creating groundbreaking programs for his clients and leading the best team of professionals an agency president could hope for. He regularly speaks on gay and lesbian marketing and his commentary on the gay market has appeared in news publications such as PR Week, HBS Working Knowledge, O’Dwyer’s Communications and New Media, and The Bay Area Reporter. He is also a contributing author to the Inside the Minds business series published by Aspatore Books.
Prior to founding Target 10, Matt worked on Madison Avenue at several PR agencies, including SCIENS Worldwide Public Relations, Inc. where he was a vice president. In a public relations capacity, he was privileged to work with such clients as Johnson & Johnson, the CDC, Columbia University, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and The American Legacy Foundation. Matt began his career in Washington, DC where he worked extensively with non-profit organizations.
Matt lives in Hell’s Kitchen in a tiny but well-appointed New York apartment. He still loves rollerblading but never seems to be able to find the time. And if he were not an agency head, Matt likes to think he could be a DJ (vinyl, of course).
